Sis. Sharon Still Lyons

Sis. Sharon Still Lyons, resident of Midland, GA, formerly of the Pine Level Community, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2020. Celebration of Life Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2020, at Pleasant Grove C.M.E. Church in Troy, AL. Sharon Denise Still Lyons was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend and so much more. She died unexpectedly on March 21, 2020 at the age of 57. Sharon is survived by her mom, Mary Pearl Elmore; her husband, Vicitias T. Lyons Jr; her children, Courtney and Mary Lyons; her brothers and sisters, Walter Still, Bernard Still, Henry Still, Vivian Coleman, and Doris Sankey. She is predeceased by her father, George Still; sister, Deborah Bristow and her grandmother Maddie Patterson. Sharon was born October 21, 1962 to George Still and Mary Still in Montgomery, AL. She graduated from Troy University in the Summer of 2016 with a degree in Sociology. She worked for Suntrust bank for a number years starting out as entry level bank teller and worked her way up to Branch Manager. On May 20, 1986 Sharon married Vicitias T. Lyons, Jr after meeting and falling in love at Troy University. On September 2nd, 1988 and February 3rd, 1991 respectively, she welcomed her son and daughter into this world whom she absolutely adored and often spoke highly of as the apples of her eye. The only other person she adored more was her mother, who she spent three years of her life as her care taker. This included driving her to every doctors and hair appointment, cooking every meal and making life as comfortable as possible before it was highly recommended to move her mother to a nursing home. Besides taking care of her mother, Sharon enjoyed playing softball and basketball in her teens, listening to Joyce Meyers sermons, and watching romance movies and soap operas. Her favorite restaurant was Ruby Tuesday; she enjoyed singing loudly and badly to gospel music and Fantasia in the car and above all spending time with her family. Her friends and co-workers remember her as genuine, sweet, kind, and hard-working. Her family members knew her as strong and resilient. And at the family gatherings she was always the life of the party, ready to ambush anyone with a tight squeeze and kiss on the cheek. Her laugh and smile were infectious and let’s not forget her famous dance moves that always left everyone’s stomach hurting from all of the laughter. Sharon Lyons, was a phenomenal woman indeed who will be deeply missed but never forgotten. To the devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend, we will love you always and forever.
