Mrs. Odessa Hendricks Davis

October 28, 1941 - February 28, 2015

Mrs. Odessa Hendricks Davis was born on October 29, 1941, in Montgomery County to the late Sonnie and Jimmie Lee Barker Hendricks. Sister Davis made her transition from earth to heaven on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Sister Davis had a wonderful spirit and loved the Lord, her church, family and friends. She was always quick to lend a helping hand or provide wise advise. She was known for her culinary and immaculate housing keeping skills. Sister Davis became a Christian at an early age, and was a faithful and devoted member at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church until she departed this life. She served under the leadership of Rev. Julius Buskey and Rev. Samuel Green, as an usher and in the culinary/hospitality ministry. Sister Davis was preceded in death by her husband, William Davis, three children, Betty Joe, Teddy Joe and baby girl Davis and stepson Daniel Bean, one brother, Samuel Hendricks and one sister, Georgia Rea Williams. She is survived by six (6) children: Debbie Hendricks, Troy, AL, Russell (Shannon) Davis, Enterprise, AL, Stanley (Agnes) Davis, Troy, AL, Gerome Davis, San Antonio, TX, Sharon (Joseph) Foster, Troy, AL, Sandra (Aaron) Whaley, Montgomery, AL; two sisters, Robbie Blair, Detroit, MI and Jimmie Helen Cottrell, Dothan, AL; two sisters-in-law, Annie May Hendricks and Lizzie Davis, Troy, AL; twelve grandchildren, LaToya Hendricks, Zephanie Davis, Shantrice Tarver, Brittany Thomas, Jamal Davis, Arquevious Foster, Faith Foster, Keandra Davis, Samya Rivers, William Thomas Davis, Laken Whaley, and ogan Whaley, four great grandchildren, Christopher Blalke, Arman Sheffield, Nyla Tarver and Jayvon Tarver. Homegoing Services are planned for Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Troy, AL. Family and Friends Visitation is 1:00 until 5:30 P.M. on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at the funeral home.
